Frequently Asked Questions

How far in advance should I book? ▼
As early as possible — especially for weekends, holidays, and wedding season. DJ Slam recommends securing your date at least 4–6 weeks out. That said, reach out anytime and availability will be checked.
How many songs can I request? ▼
2-hour sets: up to 5 must-play songs. Sets of 3 hours or longer: up to 10 must-play songs. Up to 5 songs may be placed on a do-not-play list. Up to 3 genre requests are accepted per event.
Is a contract required for every event? ▼
Yes. DJ Slam uses a formal contract for every booking. It protects both parties and documents all event details, music agreements, payment terms, and contingency plans in writing before your event day.
How does the deposit work? ▼
A non-refundable deposit is required upon contract signing to secure your date. The remaining balance is due prior to the event per the agreed payment schedule. Specific amounts are confirmed during booking based on your event.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule? ▼
If you cancel, the deposit is non-refundable. If DJ Slam needs to reschedule due to an emergency, it will be done at no additional cost to you. If he's unable to perform at all, a full refund will be issued.
Do you travel outside your service area? ▼
DJ Slam primarily serves NE North Carolina and the Tidewater Virginia region. Travel beyond that area may be possible depending on your event. Call (252) 339-4411 to discuss your location.
Can I add Karaoke to my booking? ▼
Absolutely. Karaoke is available as a standalone event or as an add-on to a DJ booking. Mention it in your form or visit the Karaoke page for full package details before booking.
